FINALLY

For a time I had been bitching every so often why iTunes Philippines doesn't sell music.
I mean for crying out loud it’s called iTunes store and all they sell are apps .
Kinda stupid actually, considering the number of Filipinos that owns almost all of Apples gadgets and the fact that Filipinos are such music lovers and good singers at that.

Maybe Apple is underestimating the Filipinos capacity to buy but then again other neighboring Southeast Asian countries also does not have music downloads in their iTunes. Or maybe Apple is just afraid that Pinoy's will download the music and sell its copies or give it away for free in file sharing websites but again may I just say Americans had been doing that for the longest time.

So it’s a welcome surprise when I chance upon this website My Music Store Philippines, The newest and first online digital music store in the country. It actually contains both foreign and local acts which is so cool.
It kinda works like iTunes but the purchasing options are way more flexible. You actually have a choice if you want to pay by credit card, PayPal or probably the most suited to Filipinos with the TINGI culture the mobile load (unfortunately it’s only available thru Smart Telecommunications. Sorry Globe users) But since I'm a Smart Subscriber this does suit me very well.

So finally Pinoy's now have a local and LEGAL way of digitally downloading music they want and with very reasonable prices too!

Singles or songs costs 35 pesos and the albums costs 400 pesos not bad considering that a newly launched single like Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" in iTunes costs $1.29 converted to peso would be php 55. While a full album Ms. Clarkson's STRONGER Deluxe Edition would cost $12.99 converted to peso would be php 558….
Mura devah

Ease of use is no problem the interface is much like the same as that of iTunes, and they even have charts so you see how well your favorite song is doing. My only complaint is that whenever one wants to hear a sampler of the song to be purchased; upon clicking the play button the screen goes blue.

But minor really although the screen is blank one still hears the song playing.Another thing is although there's a wide array of choices from both local and foreign acts some record company is not included notably Warner , Columbia etc. Good thing Madonna transferred to Interscope records so I was able to buy Give me all your Luvin. my first purchase actually. But they still do have a wide selection so don't fret. I am thinking the site will expand and eventually include major record labels in the future

Logging in is a breeze as you can use your Facebook account as your log on credential not really that strict like iTunes but I'm hoping that the security in this site is good and safeguards are done to prevent possible hacking.

All in all, A welcome addition to the Pinoy's E Life.
